Fly Fishing

Fly fishing is a sacred activity for many, and at least one of us at Restoration River Ranch is part of that crowd. It definitely provides the opportunity for soul care, allowing one to escape the busyness of life, to spend time on the water in God's creation. For me, fly fishing has become an activity that I am passionate about. There is something about being on the water with fly rod in hand that I just can't put words to. The sounds, the smells, the beauty and the opportunity to be alone with God or fishing with a friend. The challenge of finding fish and figuring out what they might be feeding on brings me that sense of anticipation on every cast. When I've figured it out and see the rising trout or feel the tug, it's an adrenaline rush. I love it. I find the river so captivating. The moving water, that continues to flow reminds me of God's love for me, a love that never ends, always flowing. When I step into the river, it is a sacred time.

We would like fly fishing to have a place in the ministry of Restoration River Ranch, in caring for the soul. Perhaps you've never tried it and have little interest in doing so. Well, we'd like to invite you to give it a try. Attend one of our Fly Fishing 101 "classes" to see what you think. You might find it will be a great soul care activity. Maybe you have experience fly fishing and are excited about opportunities to join RRR for additional soul care time on the water. That's great! We'd love to invite you to participate as well.
