What is a RRR Soul Care Day?
Soul Care Days at Restoration River Ranch
What does a soul care day look like?
Not all soul care days look exactly the same, but the goal for each is. We want to create space for you to spend time with God, away from the distraction of a busy life. We will serve you coffee/tea/juice and light breakfast items upon arrival and allow time for you to get acclimated. This day will be for YOU and we will offer the opportunity to participate in a few different spiritual practices together with other attendees or the option to just be alone. Spiritual practices include a time of Bible meditation using Lectio Divina, a time of listening prayer and prayer journaling, and ending our day with a time of engaging the Daily Examen. As mentioned, your participation in any of these guided times is optional, but we do feel these practices can really enhance your day. You know best what your soul needs and so we want you to spend the day how you feel best cares for your soul. We will also offer lunch for the attendees. Typically, we start the day at 9:00 a.m. and wrap things up by 2:30 p.m. Obviously, you can leave right after lunch if needed.
Why should I come?
Because it will be a gift to you! We have heard these words from so many guests, “This is just what I needed.” This day is about you and caring for your soul. We know that there is a thief who comes to kill, steal and destroy. We believe one of the ways he does this is through distractions. A busy life of productivity can often lead to a neglected soul. We no longer can hear the Father’s voice because all the other voices are so loud. Stepping away for a day can help quiet the noise… a time to reconsider your life rhythms. A time to care for your soul.
The venue is perfect to do just that. In addition to the optional guided spiritual practices together, we offer a variety of other options if interested. These include water color painting and other creative ideas, walking the prayer trail, or hiking around the property. Basking in the beauty around, listening to the sounds and taking in the sights, allowing God to speak to you through nature is also priceless. Regardless of the weather, it will be a worthwhile day. We really hope this invitation does not feel like another “should”. We don’t like “shoulds”. Rather, we hope the invite encourages you to embrace time away with Jesus.
Where do these take place?
RRR is able to use a beautiful mountain home in Pine, CO on 13 acres of secluded land. This home sits right below a huge granite rock formation located in Staunton State Park called Lions Head. It offers amazing views, from inside and outside, includes a wraparound deck overlooking Elk Creek below, a front deck which looks directly at Lions Head, an 8 station prayer trail with benches, each stop with intentional guided meditation which has been a very meaningful experience for many, On cold days, the home offers comfortable and cozy places to be alone with Jesus. It truly is a sacred space. It is only about 45 minutes away from most Denver locations.
Cost
We invite guests to donate $40 or whatever they are able, but your presence is what we desire most, so don’t let that stand in your way. We do limit the number of guests for the benefit of each attendee.
