Prayer, Fasting & Soul Care Weekend
January 10-12, 2025
Sorry...this gathering is full.
Let’s spend this weekend together, early in January, to slow down after a busy holiday season, to listen for what God might have to say to each of us as we reflect on 2024 and to look ahead to 2025. We will have a good balance of time alone and meaningful time together. This will definitely be a time to care for your soul.
Arrive at 5 p.m on Friday. Light dinner together at 5:30 after which the food fast begins.
Saturday morning coffee and juice will be available.
Saturday evening we will break our fast by celebrating communion together followed by a celebratory dinner..
Brunch on Sunday morning.before departing at 11 a.m.
We will stay a beautiful mountain home located at 11612 S. Elk Creek Road in Pine, CO which is about a 45-50 minute drive from most Denver locations. If a food fast is not your thing, you may choose a different type of fast. However, only light snacks (yogurt, granola, fruit, etc) will be available for you on Saturday before dinner. Feel free to bring your own items to eat during that time.
Many resources will be available for you to help you spend your time alone if you desire them. Our time together will be spent in prayer and reflection.
We are excited to step into the new year together with you.
Reach out to Russ - 720-291-6039 or Twyla - 720-284-2703 with questions or to sign up.
Suggested donation is $75/person or $125/couple.

Step Away Soul Care Saturday
November 2, 2024 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
"Jesus knew that something would happen in solitude that would not happen in the midst of a busy day."
From the book Solo: Creating Space with God by Stephen W Smith and Peter M Ivey
God is already speaking to you deep within. Are you able to hear His still small voice? Are distractions and busyness making this difficult?
You are invited to spend a Saturday morning, at a beautiful and sacred space in the mountains, approximately 45 min. from the metro area (5 min. from Staunton State Park), to escape the busyness of your life to spend time with God. This will be a gathering for those who desire a time of solitude, to hear God speak, and to be refreshed. A friend once said, “Silence and solitude is where we discover that God alone is enough.”
You are welcome to arrive between 9:00 -9:30 a.m., to grab some coffee and a cinnamon roll, yogurt, granola and fruit. At 9:45 you are free to begin your time of solitude and escape to one of the many places the property offers, either inside or outside, to spend time alone with God. If you choose, you can join us for a time of reading scripture using the practice, lectio divina before entering into a time to escape all distractions so that you can spend time alone with the Father, to be fully present with Him.
In addition to the inside spaces, weather permitting, the 12 acre property offers many places to go to sit in the beauty of the mountains and trees that will surround you, including rocks that overlook the creek below where you can bask in the sun. There is a short prayer trail with benches and a prayer trail guide that many have found meaningful. Bring your Bible, sketch pad, journal or whatever you might want to have with you during your time alone with God. Other resources will also be available to help you with your time alone with God if you are interested in those. We also have everything you need to paint with water colors :)
We will reconvene together at noon to have lunch together. The home features a dining area with beautiful views for our lunch time together. You will be free to leave around 1:00 to head back to town, or earlier if you so choose.
Please pray about attending and if you feel led to join us, please sign up simply by emailing or texting either Russ or Twyla by Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2024:

Soul Care Day for Staff of Safe Places For Women
October, 2024
Would you be willing to donate so that we can make this a cost free day for this beautiful ministry?
See below for details.
Twyla has been a part of this ministry since March and it has been on her heart to offer a couple soul care days, one for just staff and one for the women who are currently in the program. This is such a beautiful ministry, offering women who have been trafficked and suffering from so much past trauma, the opportunity for healing and a vision for a new future. Twyla has had oppportunity to pray with these women on Thursday mornings. This time has been a time for healing for some of them and also a time of deep blessing for Twyla and she comes alongside and cares for the souls of these broken and hurting new friends.
We will be offering both days at no cost to this important ministry as we want their funds to be used for caring for these precious daughters of the KIng. We plan to offer two spiritual directors/Splankna trained therapists to support the women during the time of soul care. If you would be willing to donate to help us offset the cost for these days, we would be blessed. Click here to donate and be sure to specify that your donation is for "Safe Places for Women Soul Care". Donate to support RRR hosting Safe Places for Women

Personalized Soul Care Day
Let's find a day that works for you
Uncrowd my heart, O God, until silence speaks in your still small voice; turn me from the hearing of words,
and the making of words, and the confusion of much speaking,
to listening, waiting, stillness, silence.
-Thomas Merton
Please contact us if you would like us to customize a soul care day just for you, you and your spouse, or a small group of friends.
We will work with you to find the most ideal location, whether it be here in the Denver area or in the mountains. We can make it a 4 hour time together or a bit longer, up to 6 hours.
Taking time away from the busyness of life to open ourselves to spending time with Jesus, to hear His voice, and to surrender ourselves to what He may have for us is what this day will be all about. We will provide a meal, depending on the time that works best for you.
Please email or text us to get your day scheduled.

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet water, he refreshes my soul.- Psalm 23:1-3
Come sabbath with us at a nearby mountain home! - Cancelled due to snow
Sunday, Feb. 4 , 2024 Noon - 4:00 p.m.
"On the seventh day He rested and was refreshed." Exodus 31:17
Sabbath is an invitation to us from God to stop....to rest. In the book The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry. John Mark Comer writes: "But Sabbath is more than just a day; it's a way of being in the world. It's a spirit of restfulness that comes from abiding, from living in the Father's loving presence all week long." It is an invitation to experience rest deep in our hearts and souls. Taking time to be refreshed and renewed is a great practice. Ideally, this would become part of who we are, a rhythm of our lives. Let's start practicing together!!
A good question to ask as you begin your sabbath... "What would bring you life today?"
We invite you to join us for an afternoon of sabbath to take time to refresh together before the next busy week starts. We will provide lunch to get us started and then after that, a time to relax and enjoy whatever God has for you at the Elk Falls home. At around 3:00 p.m., we will offer coffee/tea and dessert.
Bring your journal, sketch book, a book to read and/or shoes to walk the prayer trail or hike around the property. We will have water color paint supplies and create space for you to just be.... doing whatever refreshes and restores you during your time of sabbath. Naps and games are an option as well. Ping pong anyone?
The Elk Falls home is a beautiful space to sabbath and the property offers many places to retreat. It is 5 min. from Staunton State Park so it is close and an EASY commute from the Denver metro area.
You will be blessed!
Please pray about attending and if you feel led to join us, please sign up simply by emailing or texting either Russ or Twyla by Monday, January 29, 2024:

Fasting and Prayer gathering - February 17 & 18, 2023
Restoration River Ranch invites you to join us for an overnight stay at a beautiful mountain home to participate in an intentional time to meet with God using the spiritual discipline of fasting and prayer. This discipline is new to us, but we are feeling led to step into it, along with a small group of others, to position ourselves to be hungry for the deep awareness of His presence.
Why fast? Marjorie Thompson in her book Soul Feast, suggests: “Combined with prayer, it is a potent means of making ourselves available to the cleansing, restoring, empowering grace of God.” As we’ve prayed about this gathering, it seems the desire is to first move from the busyness of our lives to a place of rest and release, from control and self-indulgence to surrender and abstinence, into confession and finally into a place of complete openness to hear the voice of our Father speak into our true identity as His beloved children.
“Fasting makes me vulnerable and reminds me of my frailty. It leads me to remember that if I am not fed I will die…Standing before God hungry, I suddenly know who I am. I am one who is poor, called to be rich in a way that the world does not understand. I am one who is empty, called to be filled with the fullness of God. I am one who is hungry, called to taste all the goodness that can be mine in Christ.” - Macrina Wiederkehr
Details:
This will be a food fast, but also a fast from a connection to the internet and perhaps if you decide, a fast from your phone entirely. The desire is giving up in order to receive. This will be a partial 24 hour fast, meaning, we start the fast after dinner on Friday night, have coffee & juice available on Saturday morning, and share in communion late afternoon followed by a celebratory dinner together on Saturday evening.
We will provide structure for this 24 hour time, but also allow for meaningful time of personal reflection, prayer and meditation. The accommodations are very nice and we will limit the size of this gathering to six total attendees (including Twyla and Russ) to ensure comfortable sleeping arrangements. Bedding, towels and toiletries are provided.
We do encourage you to bring along a journal, your Bible and perhaps other reading.
There is no cost to attend.

Men’s Soul Care Saturday - Saturday, March 18, 2023
Uncrowd my heart, O God, until silence speaks in your still small voice; turn me from the hearing of words,
and the making of words, and the confusion of much speaking,
to listening, waiting, stillness, silence.
-Thomas Merton
You are invited to spend a Saturday morning, at a beautiful and sacred space in the mountains, approximately 45 min. from the metro area (5 min. from Staunton State Park), to escape the busyness of your life to spend time with God. This will be a gathering of men who desire a time of silence and solitude, to hear God speak, and to be refreshed. A friend once said, “Silence and solitude is where we discover that God alone is enough.”
You are welcome to arrive between 8:00 - 8:30 a.m., to grab some coffee and a cinnamon roll, yogurt, granola and fruit. We will open with prayer and worship at 8:45, followed by a time of reading scripture using the lectio divina practice. At approximately 9:45, we will enter into a time of “silence and solitude”, giving you the opportunity to escape all distractions so that you can spend time alone with the Father. The 12 acre property offers many places to go to sit in the beauty of the mountains and trees that will surround you. There is a short prayer trail with benches and a prayer trail guide that many have found meaningful. Bring your Bible, sketch pad, journal or whatever you might want to have with you during your time alone with God.
We will reconvene together at noon to have lunch together. The home features a large deck with beautiful views for our lunch time together. You will be free to leave around 1:00 to head back to town, or earlier if you so choose.
Please pray about attending and if you feel led to join us, please sign up simply by emailing or texting Russ by Monday, March 13, 2023:
russ.resotrationriverranch@gmail.com or 720-291-6039
I will be limiting the number of men who can attend so that everyone will have enough space to be alone. There will be no cost to attend.

Fly fishing/Soul care retreat - Sept. 22- 24, 2023 (Sorry, this retreat is full)
This will be our first fly fishing weekend retreat and it will be epic. We will spend time freeing our minds from all the consuming thoughts, underlying agendas, to do lists, and responsibilities of our existing schedules and be intentional about surrendering our time to "sit at the table" as we like to say at RRR. Taking time to accept the invite to sit at the table with the Trinity, to taste and see His goodness, and to listen to His voice so that we can be filled with a deep awareness of His presence and His love for us. I can't wait. Oh, and of course, we'll do some hiking and fly fishing. It will be well worth your time. Come join us.
Here's an overview:
Friday- Leave Denver midday and head up to the Elk Falls cabin and settle in. After a light lunch, we will have a little downtime to begin "the release of the stresses of life". The prayer trail is a great option but so are the many places on the property that will allow you time alone with God to surrender this weekend to Him. Next, we will head down to the lakes at Lower Lake Ranch and do some fly fishing and enjoy the beauty of that place. We will head back to the cabin for a delicious dinner, followed by some worship, prayer and a lectio divina (scripture reading).
Saturday - Morning time of silence and solitude followed by breakfast. After breakfast we will venture out for day to hike to a high mountain lake. We will do some fishing and have lunch together. Here too, we will do another lectio divina reading and have some time to quiet ourselves to be fully present to God. After hiking back we will play some corn hole and ping pong as dinner is prepared. After dinner, we will have a brief time of worship then, have a time of sharing (if you choose to) and prayer.
Sunday - Sabbath - morning will allow for a time of silence and solitude (or sleeping in) and then we will have breakfast together. After breakfast, we will walk down to the creek and share communion together. Following some free time to "Sabbath", we will each lunch, tidy up the place, pack up our things and head back to Denver.
Please contact me at 720-291-6039 or russ.restorationriverranch@gmail to let me know you're joining us or if you have questions.

Taking time to accept the invite to sit at the table with the Trinity, to taste and see His goodness, and to listen to His voice so that we can be filled with a deep awareness of His presence and His love for us.
